Best-Ball Tournament Format
Each team consists of four golfers. Each team will also get a pink ball that one player must play on each hole.
Each member of the team must play the pink ball twice. (One team member will have to play the pink ball three times).
All pink balls surviving the round will be put into a hat. One ball will be drawn at random and that team receives the pink ball pot.
Prizes
- Longest drive: male and female (must be on the fairway)
- Closest to the pin: male and female (must be on the green)
- Longest putt
To give everyone a chance, a single person cannot win both longest drive and closest to the pin. Any prizes not won will be randomly raffled off.
Side Contests
Marshmallow Drive Contest
$2 for one marshmallow or $3 for two marshmallows. The entire Marshmallow drive pot will go to the Hacker with the longest marshmallow drive.
Mini Fireball Shots
$1 per shot. You will get a ticket for each shot you buy for yourself or for a fellow Hacker.
Winner will be drawn from those tickets and the pot will go to one Fireball shot taker.
Scoring (Modified Peoria handicap)
The modified Peoria handicap system will be used for scoring. After the round, three holes will be drawn at random.
Each team’s score over par on those three holes will be multiplied by 2.8
(maximum of two over per Peoria hole). That total will be deducted from the team’s final score.
Example:
If a team shoots a total round of 41, they get par on one of the Peoria holes, shoot three over on another Peoria hole,
and one over on the third Peoria hole.
- Par hole: Peoria deduction = 0
- Three over: Peoria deduction = 5.6
- One over: Peoria deduction = 2.8
Their total score after applying the Peoria handicap system would be 32.6.
Any ties will be settled by a coin toss.
